Friendly and caring staff. Clean.
Brought my cat there in 2011. They told me my cat had lymphoma and needed to start treatment asap! You know, steroids that aren't good for the pet and will add to their demise!! I decided not to have it done because I was out of $1100 for a surgery that my cat didn't even need! Thought they found something wrapped around her intestine. Did surgery and guess what? Found nothing! But tests came back showing she has lymphoma. To make a long story short. It is now 2017 and I'll be damn if the cat is still living! She doesn't even have cancer!! And in perfect health at age 14! So if I would have paid the money to have my cat pumped with steroids, she would probably would have been dead from that! I would NOT recommend this place. Save your pet and some money and go somewhere else!!!!!!!
“Dr. Sam” did a declaw for the “rescue” lake haven on a kitten that i rescued from them. This cat had infected incisions and can not touch her right paw to the ground. She also will not use the litter box ( her urinalysis was negative for a UTI), so is on antibiotics and pain medication. Her spay incision was not sewn shut properly, two separate vets have seen her in the GR area and said that abdominal fat was sewn into the incision and she may need corrective surgery. This so called rescue, Lake Haven, and this so called veterinary office doing top notch work.... pain medication for life...
Dr. Sam and the crew are very knowledgeable & caring.
I moved to the area about 11 years ago and I tried another local vet that was actually a little closer to where I live and because the house I purchased "came with a dog" who was already established at the other vet. I took all of my dogs (4 in total) there one time and did not care for it. I immediately started looking for another vet and that is when I found Dr. Sam. I took my pets to him and was VERY PLEASED with the treatment my kids received and the service the staff provided. I have been taking my kids there ever since and will be taking my Husky to them for her vaccines next week and having her spayed sometime soon. I have no more hesitation in taking her to AWC than I would any other vet for such a procedure as there are inherent risks with any surgery, in fact I have less hesitation because I know how they are with her. I am confident that she will receive the best care that she can be provided.
